Kevin Lincoln : ウィキペディア英語版 | Kevin Lincoln
Kevin Lincoln (born 1941) is an Australian artist. ==Life and Work== Kevin Lincoln was born in Battery Point, Hobart in 1941 and moved to Melbourne in the 1960s, where he has lived and worked ever since. Receiving little to no formal art training, Lincoln worked various jobs, as a welder and boilermaker for example, in order to make a living before he could devote his time to art. His early work, mainly linocuts, reflects this industrial background and it wasn't until the 1970s that he began to work in paintings. Lincoln is admired for his still lifes, self-portraits and etchings, all of which embody a sense of restraint and austerity. He has been described as "one of the most introverted and underrated artists" in Australia, by art critic John McDonald, and is not as widely known as some of his contemporaries yet he has exhibited consistently and to great acclaim for over the last 35 years.〔 Common themes throughout his career, spanning genres and mediums, have included age, mortality and the solitary figure and his work has developed from expressive social realism to abstraction. At over 70 years of age Lincoln's career has spanned almost half a decade and he continues to be a rigorous draughtsman and printmaker, as well as painter, producing over 400 prints to date.
